Now you can access and edit Photoshop files on the fly, the iPad version “reinvents itself with a new user experience completely redesigned for iPad with touch and mobility in mind,” said Pam Clark, senior director of product management at Adobe.
But really, the big focus here is the iPad. Because the same base code is used in both the iPad and desktop version, Adobe says “you can open and edit the same PSD on your desktop or iPad without worrying about conversions, compressions, imports or exports.” This new system means that your work is automatically saved in the cloud, did you guess?
Adobe is also careful to emphasize that “this is the beginning.” In other words, the iPad version is not yet compatible with everything available in the desktop version.
That said, Adobe promises to add more capabilities over time depending on how the iPad version is actually used.
