The coronavirus already has another victim in the technology sector. The cancellation of the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference), the Apple developer conference, has been confirmed; at the same time, his alternative has been presented.
WWDC canceled
Like other technology companies, Apple has decided that WWDC 2020 will be “virtual”. Therefore, the usual presentations, workshops, and panels during WWDC week will continue to be available, but only online. Apple has not detailed how it will be, but we hope that keynotes and sessions will be held through streaming, on the official website. Since most of the world already followed WWDC that way, there really isn’t much difference.
For June
The virtual WWDC 2020 will be held next June. Although it may seem too early to cancel an event that was to be held in June, for a company like Apple it makes sense. In fact, Apple isn’t the first big one to be forced to cancel its event. Apple avoids using the word “cancellation” to refer to WWDC 2020.
It has not advanced what the virtual event will consist of, but it is sure that iOS 14 will be presented, which will include new features such as a new home screen with a list view.
